About the Partnerships Against Domestic Violence Initiative
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is a major issue that profoundly affects the social, emotional, physical & financial wellbeing of individuals & families and results in significant social & economic costs to the community.
The prevention of domestic violence is a major component of the Australian Government's strategy for strengthening families, preventing family breakdown & building healthy & safe communities.
Partnerships Against Domestic Violence (Partnerships) was an Australian Government initiative, working with State & Territory governments, the community & business to find better ways of preventing & responding to domestic violence.
Although this programme has now been replaced by the Women's National Safety Agenda, information about the PADV activities is still valuable.
