A 1996 Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) survey, Women's Safety Australia established the first national data on the nature and extent of all forms of violence against women in Australia.

Window on Women also known as Women's Data Warehouse, is is a unique, single reference point designed to provide free access to integrated statistical data about women's needs and circumstances through a women's data warehouse facility.
